Inner Mapping — Reflection
Inner Mapping
There are moments when the inner landscape shifts without a sound. Colours soften, old lines blur, and new pathways begin to take shape. I never really know where a painting like this will lead, only that each stroke feels like a step closer or deeper into something that I may have been carrying for a long time.
Inner Mapping came together in a slow, intuitive way — almost like watching a memory surface. The shapes reminded me of stones worn smooth by time, and the gentle washes felt like light finding its way through. As I worked, it became less about creating a finished piece and more about tracing the quiet places inside myself that don’t always have words.
This painting is a reminder that our inner world is always shifting, always forming, always inviting us to pay attention. Sometimes the map reveals itself only after we stop trying to force it . . . just being aware makes all the difference.
